Subject Description

The Level 2 Health course is designed to support the growth and development of young people who can take care of themselves, others, and their local community.

Throughout this course, students will develop an understanding of risk and protective factors and the influence they have on a person’s ability to cope with life’s challenges and be resilient.  Explore adolescent related issues such as peer pressure, bullying, sexual identity, gender, and drugs. They will learn about health promotion strategies for all areas of wellbeing for self, others, and society. Students are encouraged through inquiry learning to identify inequities, make changes and contribute positively, through individual and collection active to the development of healthy communities and environments.

There will be three internal assessments and one external exam.

If new to Health, a review of English credits could be used for entry. excluding Achievement Standard 91102 (Construct and deliver a crafted and controlled oral text) is excluded.
