Subject Description

Technology education contributes to the intellectual and practical development of students, both as individuals and informed members of a technological society. The aim of this course is to enable students to achieve technological literacy through the development of; technological knowledge and understanding and technological capability. In this subject, students will have an opportunity to design, make, modify, and evaluate products for their stakeholders.

Term 1
AS91620
Students will be making a specified product with some teacher guidance
Implement complex procedures to integrate parts using resistant materials to make a specified product

Term 2
AS91622
Students will have an opportunity to use a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine and Computer Aided Drawing tools to make prototypes.
They will be implementing complex procedures to make a specified product using a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine

AS91612
Demonstrate an understanding of how technological modelling supports technological development and implementation.
Students will start working on an External half way through this term to give them enough time to gain the highest possible grade by the end of term 3.

Term 3
AS91611
Develop a prototype considering fitness for purpose in the broadest sense
Students will start with their major project (prototype) which they will be designing and creating for their stakeholders.
This will be tested for their fitness for purpose in t4

Term 4
Continue with AS91611 - testing and trialing of the prototype
