The Economic World – Students learn about the ways in which people participate and interact with the 5 sectors in the Economy, economic activities and about the consumption, production, and distribution of goods and services. They develop an understanding of their role in the economy and of how economic decisions affect individuals and communities.

This course is online where students complete modules related to earning, saving, interest, employment, managing your money, borrowing money, property, investing, business and protecting your money.

1. Earning an Income, saving and interest.
2. Employment- career choice, CV, job application and taxation

Term 2
3. Managing your money- spending, budgeting, banking and paying.
4. Borrowing Money- borrowing, loans and loans repayment.

Term 3
5. Property- rent or buy, mortgage, buying property and rental property.
6. Investing- term deposits, property investments, shares and collectibles.

Term 4
7. Business- basic business, marketing, promotion, selling, price and profit or loss.
8. Protecting your Money- warranties, cash, insurance, online security and net wealth and kiwisaver.
